Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Professionals Mental Health Support

First Response Service: This is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week service for people in mental health crisis who need urgent advice and support and who are registered with a GP in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough. To access the service, patients ring 111, and then press option 2. GPs can access FRS by calling 01480 416040.

If a patient, who is already receiving support from mental health services, is experiencing a mental health crisis and it is between 9am-5pm then contact the CPFT care co-ordinator. Their care plan will contain information on how to contact them.

Primary Care Mental Health Service: The Primary Care Mental Health Service provides specialist mental health support for GP surgeries so that people with mental ill-health can access prompt advice and support, receive help in a community setting and experience a more joined-up approach to their care. Anyone aged between 17-65 can access the Primary Care Mental Health Service. Any requests should go through the Primary Care Mental Health Service e-referral system. All older people’s mental health referrals should be made via eRS. Please call 01480 420178 or e-mail cpm-tr.opmhreferrals@nhs.net if you have any queries. Please talk to the Mental Health Liaison Practitioner or the Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner in your surgery if you have any queries or e-mail the team via: PrismMailbox@cpft.nhs.uk.

All referrals to Community CAMHS should be made using the referral form found at the bottom of the page HERE

Please ensure that consent is obtained from the young person/parent/carer.

The screening process within the Single Point of Access will ensure that all referrals are directed to the most appropriate services.

Please telephone to SPA if you need to discuss a potential referral.

We accept referrals from all professionals working with children and young people up to the age of 17 (or 18 if they have a learning disability) who are:

If a referral is not appropriate for Community CAMHS, we will guide referrers to information about other, more appropriate services.
