Mens Sheds
Mens Sheds - Mens Sheds work hard to inspire and support the development of as many Men’s Sheds as possible, for the benefit of men’s health and wellbeing. They are a member organisation, representing UK-based Men’s Sheds. They raise awareness of the Men’s Sheds movement and the many benefits of Shedding and they support Men’s Sheds in getting off the ground and thriving as community-driven, member-led entities. They don’t own or manage Men’s Sheds, but they champion them for miles around.


SEW Positive logo
Sew Positive - Sewing, Sewcialise, Mending and Upcycling. We offer a term-time weekly drop in and other creative courses - some on Social Prescription - using sewing for people experiencing depression, anxiety and/or other mental health problems, and people who face social isolation. Led by a creative tutor and volunteers, we offer the chance to learn and work with a wide range of materials and techniques, including sashiko, boro (slow stitching and repair), visible mending, upcycling, basic sewing machine skills, embroidery, making a lampshade from upcycled fabrics, textile art and reducing textile waste. Sessions usually last for two hours and are open to all abilities – no experience necessary – you will work on something creative, stimulating and absorbing to increase well-being. Reading Well Self help books are also out there for you if you would prefer to go down the self help road. There is the option of getting books on prescription -Reading Well Books on Prescription helps you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing using self-help reading. The scheme is endorsed by health professionals and supported by public libraries. You can also try mood boosting books - Reading Well Mood-boosting Books is a national promotion of uplifting titles, including novels, poetry and non-fiction. The books are all recommended by readers and reading groups.

This is free and confidential. Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Healthwatch Peterborough work together as one organisation.

Mental Health First Aid We offer mental health training, including Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), a mental health skills and awareness programme. Through our training and campaigning, we equip people with the skills they need to support their own and others’ well-being. We empower people to notice the signs of mental ill health. We encourage them to break down barriers and listen in a non-judgmental way. We show them how to signpost to support for recovery.

Healthy You - Stop Smoking. No one needs telling that smoking’s bad for your health (not to mention bank balance) but giving up is another matter. If you’ve tried stopping or always thought it would be too hard then our Stop Smoking service is for you. People who get help to stop are three times more likely to stop for good.

Healthy You - Healthy You and CPSL Mind have partnered up to offer you a 12-week adult (16 years+) weight management programme for those people living with severe mental health challenges throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  The programme is a combination of nutrition workshops and physical activity sessions that focus on a healthy approach to make small changes to help you lose weight for good. The groups are run by registered nutritionists and trained physical activity specialists who encourage a balanced approach to weight management and are supported by CPSL Mind mediators to enable achievable lifestyle changes at your own pace.  The group is kept small and confidential so it’s an environment that is welcoming and comfortable. For more information email join@healthyyou.org.uk

Healthy You - Health management services. If you would like to improve your health and wellbeing, our team of health trainers can work with you to make changes that could make a real impact, however big or small. With 1-2-1 support from one of our friendly Health Trainers, there’ll be no looking back. Health Trainers have a wealth of training and expertise to guide and support you to lead a healthier life. You will work in partnership with your health trainer and develop a plan that is tailored to your individual goals.

Cambridgeshire Consultancy in Counselling (Self-Refer) - CCC is a mental health charity providing affordable counselling and related services to organisations and to those in the local community who either can't afford to pay market rates or wait for a GP appointment, ensuring a lack of funds is no barrier to getting help. CCC supports people with a wide variety of problems; including anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, critical or chronic illness, disability, life change and many more.

ICASH (Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health Services) - iCaSH Cambridgeshire provides all aspects of sexual health, including sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing & treatment, contraception, and HIV care and treatment, available from easily accessible single locations across Cambridgeshire. Anyone can self refer to our service. The clinic is totally confidential. 


Refugee council Logo
Refugee Council - We offer 1-1 therapeutic support, for a maximum of 12 sessions, focusing on increased resilience & self-care, using qualified interpreters where necessary. Psycho-education groups - eg related to trauma/anxiety/low confidence/depression/bereavement. Possibility of other psycho-social groups eg horticulture, art. Referral for ESOL and Employment support. Referral or self referral is via email to admin.ww4ri@refugeecouncil.org.uk. Clients will need evidence of Biometric Residence Permit or Home Office Letter as proof of eligibility to access this service.
